The Living City Explorer - Help

Introduction video:

How it Works:

The Living City Explorer is a location based search tool that allows you to search for an address within the Greater Toronto Area and find content such as Points of Interest, Events, Trails and interesting photos  nearby. All content is managed and published by The Living City Foundation and Toronto and Region Conservation but you may upload photos to The Living City Explorer yourself and pin it to a place on the map through the Upload Pin feature.

Ways to Search:

You can search for a specific address, postal code, intersection or venue name and adjust your search radius to narrow your results. Featured events appear first but you may click the Sort by Distance button to re-order the results with the closest results to your search address appearing at the top of the list. When more than ten results are returned, you may click the More Results button to see events further away.

Get Directions:

Once a place is selected, you can get directions by either car, transit, walking or cycling through Google Maps by clicking the directions button in the popup window. It was brought to our attention that occasionally Google Maps may lead the occasional visitor through a back entrance at some of our locations such as Albion Hills. We've built in the ability to correct this by directing visitors to the appropriate gate.

Sharing:

We've added a Share link that allows you to post this place to your Facebook or Twitter profile or you can simply copy and paste the link into an email.

System Requirements:

The Living City Explorer will works on all modern browsers, includeing Microsoft Internet Explorer 8, 9 and 10, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari as well as mobile browsers on Blackcerry 6+, iPhone and Android devices. Please note that Internet Explorer 6 and 7 are not supported and it is recommended that you upgrade to the current version.
